Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a three-year, $15.4 million renewal to a contract to administer health services in the state of Louisiana, the company said June 14.

As part of the contract renewal, ACS of Dallas will continue to administer services for the state's early and periodic screening, diagnosis and treatment program for children.

The company also will manage a statewide expansion of its primary care case management program for the Louisiana Bureau of Community Supports and Services.

Since 1991, ACS has provided multiple administrative services in support of Louisiana's early and period screening, diagnosis and treatment program.

For the Bureau of Community Supports and Services' community care program, ACS will continue to perform functions that include operating recipient, provider, and referral hotlines, developing marketing and outreach materials, conducting Government Performance and Results Act studies and supporting the Children's Choice waiver program, a mental retardation and developmental disability program.

ACS' new responsibilities for the community care program include developing a Web site, augmenting its information systems capabilities, implementing comprehensive quality management and working with the state and fiscal intermediary on provider network development.

The company provides similar Medicaid managed care and child health care program support in Rhode Island and Texas.

ACS has about 18,500 employees and had sales of $1.9 billion in fiscal 2000, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
