Application Technologies Acquires Apprio Inc.

Application Technologies Inc., an information technology consulting firm in Bethesda, Md., announced May 30 it would acquire Apprio Inc., an Oracle-based application service provider and systems integrator in Vienna, Va.


Apprio's experience and customer relationships in Asia and Latin America will help AppsTech expand its presence in markets worldwide, enhance AppsTech's applications hosting capabilities and boost its portfolio of government clients, AppsTech officials said.


Under the terms of the acquisition agreement, AppsTech will acquire all of Apprio's assets and assume all of its obligations to current employees and existing clients. The financial terms of the agreement between the two privately held companies were not disclosed.


Apprio Chief Executive Officer Darryl Britt said the combined company would be able to enhance service delivery to its clients.


"We look forward to playing an important role in the worldwide expansion of the company," he said.


AppsTech selects, builds, implements and supports e-business solutions for multinational corporations and governments worldwide. Its clients include the U.S. Department of Education and Department of Commerce.


Apprio provides implementation, consulting, development, hosting and support services to customers in numerous industries, including telecommunications, financial services and education. Its clients include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Census Bureau.
