SAIC Wins Computer Security Task Order

Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego announced April 30 a task order award from the General Services Administration under Program Safeguard to provide support to the Federal Computer Incident Response Center, or FedCIRC.

With team member Predictive Systems Inc. of New York, SAIC will respond to information security incidents reported by federal employees through an 800 number and recommend immediate corrective actions. The value of the task order was not disclosed.

"We need tomorrow's network defense capabilities today, and SAIC will add significantly to the FedCIRC cyberdefense arsenal," said Commissioner Sandra Bates of the GSA Federal Technology Service.

FedCIRC provides containment and recovery assistance when computer security breaches, such as unauthorized intrusions and viruses, threaten IT resources supporting mission-critical functions.
