Lockheed Martin Wins $25 Million Army Training Contract

The Army selected Lockheed Martin Corp. to develop the common training instrumentation architecture for all its training ranges. The cost-plus-fixed-fee contract is worth about $25 million over the next 30 months.

The award is the first for live domain training under the Army's Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command Omnibus Contract. The common training instrumentation architecture program will develop an architecture to support live training across a wide range of products, from combat training centers to home-station instrumentation training systems.

The architecture will provide a foundation for future live training ranges as the Army modernizes its training tools over the next decade. Lockheed Martin, based in Bethesda, Md., qualified for contract awards in all four STRICOM domains: live, virtual, constructive and test and instrumentation.
