Incumbent Keeps $192 Million Air Force Contract

The Air Force has awarded a $192 million, five-year contract to Sverdrup Technology Inc. to provide a range of technical, engineering and acquisition support services for the Aeronautical Systems Center at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.

Sverdrup, a wholly owned subsidiary of Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. that is based in Tullahoma, Tenn., was the incumbent on the project.

The technical and engineering services will support a broad variety of disciplines. For example, in weapons technology, the company will support range instrumentation, computers and software, aircraft integration, modeling and simulation and GPS and inertial systems.

In electronic warfare, Sverdrup will provide engineering and technical services for threat simulators, communications networks, mission data development, requirement analysis, ground and avionics systems and testing and training ranges.

The C4ISR technologies ? command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance ? will include operational testing and battle lab support, reconnaissance system test support and configuration control of systems.
