ON THE JOB

HireFuze.com of Columbia, Md., recently launched a recruiting product that allows employers to deliver position-specific Web sites to candidates via e-mail.

An online wizard simplifies creation of the job ad,
called a FuzeBox. The method will save employers time and money and will help differentiate them from their competitors, said Chief Executive Officer Charles
Durakis Jr.

"Today, it is more often the candidate, not the employer, that is driving the [hiring] process," Durakis said. "As a result, companies are seeking nontraditional, more effective recruiting methods. HireFuze.com enables organizations to differentiate themselves in the hiring process." EmployOn Inc., a Cleveland aggregator of online job ads, recently began offering employers access to its database of job seekers.

The database contains more than 1.5 million resumes and more than 8 million jobs. EmployOn's Match Engine technology allows users to describe in detail the jobs they want, allowing them to find "the needle in the haystack," the company said. Now, employers can use the same technology to find the most qualified candidates, saving time and money, officials said.

"With 8 million jobs on one Web site, we will be highly attractive to the growing number of job seekers who will give us a steady stream of fresh resumes," said James Bennett, chief executive officer. Most college students are willing to move abroad for a job, according to a recent survey by Jobtrak.com, a Los Angeles-based career Web site for collegians.

More than 1,000 students and recent graduates responded to the survey. Thirty-eight percent said they would definitely relocate, 45 percent said they would do so if the conditions were right, and 17 percent ruled out the possibility.

One pollster said: "As a young college grad, I would be more inclined to relocate at this point in my life. I don't have a lot of commitments. I have nothing to lose."
The career Web site FlipDog.com recently launched a searchable collection of more than 50,000 executive biographical sketches culled from thousands of corporate Web sites. The Provo, Utah, company said thousands of bios will be added each month.

The Executive Finder allows recruiters to identify candidates by location, a specific skill or experience in a particular industry, trimming what are usually long searches, said Robert Lauer, president of Agora Consulting, an executive recruiting firm in Colorado Springs, Colo.

FlipDog also lists about 650,000 jobs from 52,000 employers.
