Golden Screens Interactive Technologies Inc. of New York won a $1.3 million contract to provide electronic government kiosks to New York City.
The Web-based kiosks are being provided through a public-private partnership between GSIT and New York City's Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
GSIT initially will provide 59 kiosks, one for each community board in the city. GSIT will be responsible for design and development, maintenance and growth of the network. The network may grow to hundreds of terminals over the next few years, company officials said.
