FOSE kicks off 25th Year with Microsoft Keynote, Webcast

FOSE 2001, the largest government information technology conference and showcase in the world, unveils its 25th conference this morning at the Washington, D.C., Convention Center with a keynote address by Craig Mundie, Microsoft's Senior Vice President for Advanced Strategies. Mundie is among the speakers who, in a first for FOSE, will have their presentations webcast from the conference.

FOSElive, located at www.foselive.com, will present three days of FOSE speakers, corporate presentations and interviews, according to Alec Dann, vice president of Internet for Post Newsweek Tech Media Group. The webcast gives FOSE attendees and web viewers the chance to see conference portions they missed, view corporate presentations or review FOSE highlights. The webcast is made possible by a partnership between Post Newsweek and TV Worldwide.com, a Chantilly, Va.,-based video streaming application service provider.

Reporters from Government Computer News, Washington Technology and Washtech.com will cover FOSE and report from the conference floor in print articles, on their web sites and in the webcast. In addition, a Washtech.com reporter, Kyle Balluck, will webcast daily show highlights at 11:50 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. each day on foselive.com.

FOSE attendees and FOSElive viewers will find plenty to see and learn, according to Bill Howell, Sr. Vice President of Post Newsweek Tech Media Group and General Manager of FOSE. "Wireless Solutions for Mobile Access," featuring private and government technology leaders who have created and used mobile-wireless products and solutions, and

"Convergence: Make Systems and Technologies Work Together," which tackles topics related to integration and systems management.
