The California Health and Welfare Agency is seeking a vendor to develop middleware software, which the state's automated welfare system will use to talk to other systems on different platforms. The agency expects requests for proposals to be advertised and distributed to bidders sometime during the first quarter of 2001. The welfare systems automate eligibility processes and administrative functions for the CalWORKs, food stamp, Medi-Cal, foster care, refugee and county medical services programs.The Colorado Department of Revenue's information technology division will hire a project manager to assist in planning and implementing the title and registration system. An RFP should be released in the first quarter of 2001. The agency wants to replace the current title and registration system with a new, fully integrated, open system that uses modern programming languages, enabling the revenue department to make future changes in a more cost effective and timely manner. It also seeks solutions that will minimize batch processing with more emphasis on a real-time environment.The Nebraska Department of Roads' Division of Intermodal Transportation plans to implement an automated permit system. The RFP should be released in the first quarter of 2001. The system is part of the departmental IT plans for 2002-2003. The department wants to develop a Web-based system in which the customer can fill out a permit online. The system should be able to check the permit for accuracy, while clerks assign the permit a number and send it back online.
