Provant Gets $170 Million Training Deal

Provant Inc. won a five-year, $170 million contract from the Department of Treasury to provide training services aimed at enhancing work force productivity and effectiveness, the company announced Jan. 17.

The training will be provided to all federal government civilian agencies and the Department of Defense.

The Boston firm's Government Industry Group will provide training in personnel development, performance management and business process re-engineering. Training will be provided online and in traditional classrooms.

Frank Pugliese, who joined the company in August 2000 after 28 years with the General Service Administration's Federal Supply Service, heads Provant's government unit.

"Our use of cutting-edge technology to enhance current solutions and create blended solutions for training and program management fulfills the needs of government agencies for a wide range of custom and off-the-shelf offerings," said Curt Uehlein, Provant's president and chief executive officer.
