Getronics Reorganizes, Lets Go of 50 Employees

Getronics Government Solutions LLC, formerly Wang Government Services Inc., today announced a reorganization that includes the addition of a chief technology officer position and the layoff of about 50 employees.
Chief operating officers for civilian and Department of Defense operations also were appointed.
Officials at the McLean, Va., company said the changes sharpen its focus on federal government customers and enhance its ability to anticipate and develop technology solutions. The firm's core business is enterprisewide infrastructure support. It is a subsidiary of Getronics NV, headquartered in Amsterdam.
"This is a positive change for the future of the company," said C. Harlan Johnston, president and chief executive officer. The changes "allow us to stay competitive and to be flexible, agile and adaptable to the changing business environment," he said.
Johnston announced these appointments:
*Jim Destival promoted to chief operating officer for the Department of Defense and NASA;
*Jim Fontana promoted to vice president, corporate development and law;
*Mike Sanders promoted to chief operating officer for civilian agencies;
*Joe Spaniol promoted to vice president, strategy integration;
*Mary Stassie, promoted to vice president and chief technology officer;
*Anthony Urreta promoted to vice president, business development.
Jeff Beck will continue as chief financial officer.
