The Ohio Division of Public Works intends to buy a real estate inventory geographic information system. The solicitation is expected in the first quarter of 2001.

The system will allow users to electronically create detailed reports and view documentation and physical attribute details as well as identify a parcel of land's location. The successful bidder will have to develop the data warehouse decision support system and implement a pilot and fully operational system.

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals plans to release a request for proposals for a new information system for the Women, Infants and Children program. The solicitation is expected in the first quarter of 2001. The department has 132 clinics in nine regional offices, which process about 210,000 WIC vouchers per month. The state's 10-year-old WIC system uses mainframe computers, is DOS-based and involves batch processing. The new system is to be online and Windows-based.

The Alaska Department of Public Safety is seeking information from firms that can help it integrate services for the Alaska Public Safety Information Network. The solicitation is expected in the first quarter of 2001. The project is part of an effort that began more than five years ago to improve criminal justice information in Alaska. The integrator will be responsible for the acquisition, development, integration and implementation of APSIN replacement applications.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection will issue a request for proposal for a computer-aided dispatch system for each of the Forestry Department's 21 dispatch centers, the CDF Fire Academy and its information technology section. The solicitation is expected to be released after the first quarter of 2001.

The scope of this project includes acquiring a computer-aided design system that meets the latest industry standards in design and technology, enhancing that base product to meet the needs of the department and creating interfaces with command and control applications. The only CAD product requirement is that the application be based upon geographic information system data.
