BTG Nails Tech Support Deal for Military Intelligence

NOV. 3 ? BTG Inc., a Fairfax, Va., information systems and technical services company, announced Nov. 2 it was awarded an information technology support contract by the Office of Naval Intelligence for the Joint Deployable Intelligence Support System.


The contract has estimated revenue of $69 million to BTG over its five-year term.


JDISS is a rapidly deployable system used by the U.S. military services that connects intelligence centers, command centers and field commanders, offering worldwide interoperability among U.S. commands and joint task forces. Its use of commercial software has produced an inexpensive, flexible system that can be upgraded quickly.


BTG will build the JDISS Support Portal, which "will give JDISS staff and users an integrated interface for enterprise management ranging from training and help-desk support to configuration and program management," said Roy Ober, BTG Program manager for JDISS.


"Combined with our software development and integration support, the portal provides the JDISS Program Office with the full suite of IT solutions required by the warfighter," Ober said.


BTG has been a partner with the Joint Program Office in the development of JDISS since the program began in 1992.


Seven other corporations are working on the BTG JDISS team: Computer Associates, Litton-PRC Inc., Compaq Computer Corp., Computer Sciences Corp., General Dynamics Corp., Polexis Inc. and iGov.com.
