Beyond.com Adds Storage Management Software to Roster

NOV. 7 ? Beyond.com Corp. of Santa Clara, Calif., has added a new storage management package to its collection of data backup and restoration products.


The e-commerce services provider reached an agreement with BakBone Software Inc. of San Diego to offer its NetVault storage management software to state, local and federal government agencies.


Beyond.com will sell NetVault through Selbre & Associates, the government sales arm of EC America of Bethesda, Md.


The software is intended to manage backup, restore and archive functions across a wide range of computer platforms. The latest version, announced last month, supports network-attached storage and is compatible with Windows 2000.


"No one understands the need to save and restore critical data more than government agencies," said Don Beery, vice president and general manager of Beyond.com's Government Systems Group. "NetVault makes it possible to streamline the process of securing that data and restoring it in a timely manner."
