Titan Systems Gets $17.9 Million Army Contract

OCT. 31 ? The Titan Corp. announced Oct. 30 that its wholly owned subsidiary, Titan Systems Corp., was awarded a four-year, $17.9 million contract by the Army Materiel Command Acquisition Center in Alexandria, Va., to identify the best material to obscure radar and create a system to dispense that material.


The system will be designed to blind enemy surveillance and defeat terminally guided weapons systems that operate in radar wavebands.


"This win ... underscores the synergism we have created within Titan Systems," said Gene Ray, Titan's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "It is an award that has been created from teamwork between multiple Titan divisions ? including companies recently acquired by Titan, with each bringing a unique contribution to the table."


The contract is new work for Titan Corp. of San Diego, which creates and launches technology-based businesses. Titan Systems' DBA Systems division of Melbourne, Fla., is the lead contractor. Subcontractors include Titan's System Resources Corp. division.


Titan Corp. has 7,600 employees and annual sales of about $1 billion.
