The Maryland State Police will procure an imaging system. The solicitation is expected to be released in the next three months.

During a pilot phase, the vendor will provide imaging solutions for personnel training records from the police academy, traffic violation records, arrests records and other records. The successful vendor also will provide the human resources department with solutions for personnel records, drug cases and other information.

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is planning to procure a point of sale system for fishing and hunting licenses. The solicitation is expected in March 2001.

The game and fish division is in the planning stages for installing a new system for its fishing and hunting licenses. The division stated it would model its system after those installed in Michigan, Texas or Kentucky.

The California Department of Health Services will recompete its Medicaid management information system fiscal agent contract. The solicitation is expected by the end of the year.

The agency wants to create an online database that can be summarized and installed within the current mainframe and local area network and wide area network environment. The system will be accessed through personal computers connected to the local area network.

The system also should provide for ad hoc reporting using standard statistical tools with access to the entire database or individually identified subsets.

The Massachusetts Public Safety Secretariat, Criminal History Systems Board, is planning to implement workstations for the National Criminal Information Center 2000 project. The solicitation is expected in the second half of 2001.

The Criminal History Systems Board is planning the development of the state's NCIC 2000 system and implementation of the system's workstations. The vendor will provide personal computer hardware, migration and application development services.
