Lockheed Martin Adds to FAA Team

OCT. 27 ? The Lockheed Martin Corp. team bidding for the $2 billion FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure program added new industry partners to help it win the lucrative 10-year contract.


Lockheed Martin added, ARINC Inc., Motorola Inc., Jerry Thompson Associates, SETA Corp., National Aviation Research Institute, Aviation Concepts, Alcatel and Cisco Systems Inc. Its current team members are AT&T Corp. and CACI International Inc.


"We firmly believe that we have the right team with the right solution to address the FAA's program," said Don Antonucci, president of Lockheed Martin Air Traffic Management.


Lockheed Martin will provide program management, architecture, information security and implementation. AT&T will provide carrier design services for transport, network management, maintenance and engineering. CACI will provide FAA customer care, information assurance and network security policy support.


The FAA will pick a team or company to modernize its telecommunications infrastructure by requesting services for transport, switching and routing network management. The contract is expected to be awarded in August 2001.


Other teams bidding on the contract are led by Harris Corp., Melbourne, Fla., and WorldCom Inc., Clinton, Miss.
