EzGov Rolls Dice With Nevada CIO

OCT. 4 ? EzGov Inc. announced Oct. 4 it has hired former Nevada chief information officer Marlene Lockard as vice president for e-government strategy.


Lockard will help Atlanta-based EzGov improve its state and local sales campaign strategy and also will represent the e-government technology company at strategic conferences and association events, the company said.


Lockard served for five years as Nevada CIO. Her background in technology, public policy and government process will be an asset to EzGov, said company officials.


"Marlene's addition to EzGov will not only strengthen but reinforce our commitment to developing lasting relationships with government," said EzGov Chairman Bryan Mundy. "Her unique government technology experience heightens our understanding of the needs and challenges of government agencies, at all levels, so that we may better serve our government customers now and for years to come."


Terry Savage succeeded Lockard in Nevada. He was promoted in September by Gov. Kenny Guinn from deputy director to CIO of the Department of Information Technology.


Meanwhile, EzGov was acknowledged Oct. 3 as one of the 50 most newsworthy emerging small-to-medium cap companies in Atlanta by LocalBusiness.com of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Companies are selected for the "50 to Watch" list based on innovation, vision, significant venture capital funding, valuable customer contacts and new markets.


EzGov has more than 60 government customers in 16 states. The company offers a e-government solution that includes software, professional services and application hosting.
