as vice president of engineering. In
her new position, she will take responsibility for Edge's commercial product and service operations, including research and development, engineering, customer care, product support, consulting and training.
Edge Technologies Inc. of Fairfax, Va., has hired Steve Cole for the position of director of sales. Cole had been sales director at Sterling Software in Reston, Va.
Gregory J. Dyson has been named director of business development and client services for the Washington office of Cushman & Wakefield, an international real estate services firm. Dyson was director of marketing and investment relations for the AFL-CIO Housing and Building Investment Trust.
Vienna, Va.-based SunTrust Bank has named David M. Rubin vice president of its technology and government division, which provides services for government contractors in the mid-Atlantic marketplace. Rubin has 15 years' commercial lending experience in the government market.
PowerTrust.com, an Internet-based energy sales company that also provides long-distance, Internet access and satellite TV services, has hired Richard Stempniewicz as its chief technology officer. Stempniewicz comes to the Reston, Va., company from ICF Consulting, where he managed the redesign of a suite of Web-based settlement, profiling and billing products marketed to the energy industry.
Nelly Abdelmessih and Erika Glass have been hired as software sales consultants at SSi Consulting, a Baltimore-based business management software consulting firm. Abdelmessih, who had been a controller at Cassidy and Pinkard in Washington, will work out of SSi's Alexandria, Va., office, serving associations, nonprofits and project-oriented industries. Glass, who formerly worked as an SSi marketing intern, will concentrate on the wholesale distribution industry from the company's Baltimore office.
Facility Information Systems Inc. of Camarillo, Calif., and Reston, Va., a facility management and information systems company, appointed Ray Summerell as vice president for corporate development. Summerell's new position highlights FIS' commitment to enhancing the facility management practices of its corporate and federal sector customers. He will be based in Reston.
Images Inc., an office automation solutions provider in Dulles, Va., appointed Michael Gross as chief marketing officer. Gross has more than 14 years of high-tech marketing and sales experience. He was previously president and chief operating officer at TenFour Inc.
Software Performance Systems Inc., Arlington, Va., appointed John Hammack, Vic McLendon and John L. Nelson as company vice presidents.
Application Technologies Inc., Bethesda, Md., an information technology consultant for multinational corporations and governments, appointed Jean-Claude Tchatchouang as chief financial officer. He was previously comptroller at The Mitchell Group and has held key positions at the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and the Central Bank of Central African States.
