The Illinois Department of Public Aid will recompete its term contract for agencywide personal computer hardware and software installation and maintenance services. The solicitation is expected to be released in September.

The department will be rebidding its term contract for PC and software installation and maintenance. The entire contract covers all PC and local area network hardware, software, printers and communication equipment. In addition, the request for proposals will cover maintenance on all microcomputer hardware that is installed statewide and any additional hardware that will be installed during the contract period.

The drivers' license division of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to contract with a vendor for the implementation of a digitized drivers' license system. The solicitation is expected to be released in October.

The digitized system must electronically capture and store digital information for Kentucky drivers' licenses and identification cards. The driver's photograph and signature will be stored along with the driving license record. Each license and ID card also will contain identifying information such as name and date of birth.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Social Services will recompete the outsourcing of the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement System. The solicitation is expected to be released in mid-2001.

Social services will recompete its term contract for the systems management of the collection and disbursement of child support payments. The Social Security Act requires that Pennsylvania maintain a full record of collections and disbursements made under the plan and have an adequate reporting system.

The New Mexico Public Employees Retirement Association plans to solicit a vendor to develop a new client-server retirement system application. The solicitation is expected to be released in September.

The PERIS legacy hardware (AS-400), operating system and application will be replaced. The retirement association intends to procure an NT server with Oracle NT, Microsoft Sequel Server or a like application. Application needs include, but are not limited to, intranet and Internet development with push capabilities, along with imaging and work flow technology.
