AUG. 28 -- ITT Industries Inc. of White Plains, N.Y., Aug. 28 was awarded two contracts worth more than $200 million to provide support services to the U.S. Army.
The first contract, to provide mission support services for U.S. government facilities in Europe, is worth $150 million over five years. ITT's Systems Division will maintain commercial and tactical vehicles, communications and electronic equipment, modify equipment, and provide warehousing and distribution services and technical assistance to the U.S. Army within Europe.
"This is a key win because of our strength in the scope of work, the importance of this customer and the backlog of jobs which will be released under this contract," said Jim Cameron, president of ITT's Systems Division.
The second contract, to provide maintenance and supply/services for Army combat equipment pre-positioned in Southwest Asia, is worth $53 million over 10 years. It was also awarded to the company's Systems Division.
"This win will firmly re-establish ITT Industries in the Middle East as a premier contractor supporting the U.S. Army," Cameron said.
