GSA Delivers Denver MAA Contracts

JULY 13 ? AT&T Corp., Qwest Communications International Inc., and Winstar Communications Inc. will share the General Services Administration's Metropolitan Area Acquisition contract for Denver, worth about $270 million, the GSA announced July 12.


Under the contract, which is managed by GSA's Federal Technology Service, the three companies will provide local telecommunications, voice, data and dedicated transmission services to the federal government agencies. The MAA contract spans eight years, four base years plus four one-year options.


The Denver award brings the number of MAA cities awarded to 15, totaling over $3 billion in business. The initial MAA awards were made in May 1999 to AT&T for Chicago, New York and San Francisco. There are only five cities left to receive MAA awards in the next few months: Albuquerque, N.M.; Boise, Idaho; Boston, New Orleans and Philadelphia.
