JULY 11 ? Another online procurement portal for government officially launches July 11 at efederal.com, eFederal Inc. of Washington announced.
"Our goal is to put the U.S. government at the forefront of technology and e-commerce by providing a secure, informed e-government solution," said Brad Allen, president and chief executive officer. Allen is the founder and former CEO of BuyGolf.com, which was purchased by Buy.com last year.
The company, founded in April, will compete with several sites, including PlanetGov.com, FedCenter.com, SmallBizMall.gov and fedamerica.com, which plans to add procurement to its site features.
The eFederal Web site will allow agencies to purchase more than 100,000 computer products, office supplies and equipment with a SmartPay credit card. The site also features online directories, market research, cost analyses and government forms, as well as links to consultants and career-related information.
The eFederal production facility is in Aliso Viejo, Calif. Company officials declined to disclose the number of efederal.com employees.
