DynCorp Snags Air Force Deal

JULY 28 ? DynCorp of Reston, Va., has snared a $392.7 million contract from the Air Force to do aircraft maintenance and base operations at Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma.


Work on the contract, which had been held by Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles, begins Oct. 1 and is for seven years.


The contract will be administered by DynCorp Technical Services Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas. Services include maintaining T-37, T-38 and T-1A aircraft, ground equipment and running a precision measurement equipment laboratory.


"This contract establishes a DynCorp presence at Vance Air Force Base and bonds our relationship with the [Air Force's] Air Education and Training Command," said Robert Alleger, president of DynCorp Technical Services. "Our goal is to become the unequivocal leader in contractual aircraft services and base operating support."


DynCorp Technical Services represents about half of DynCorp's annual revenue, which totaled $1.4 billion in 1999 revenue. DynCorp Technical Services provides professional and technical services in aviation, security, base operations, management, marine operations, range technical services and logistics.
