Kansas County's Public Safety in the Hands of HTE

MAY 16 - HTE Inc., a public-sector software solutions provider, won a $250,000 contract May 15 to provide public safety software to Butler County, Kan.

The Lake Mary, Fla.-based company will provide, among other things, criminal re
cord management, E-911 police interfacing, digitized mapping and public safety applications.


"The biggest benefit [Butler County] will reap from the new system is a centralized, consolidated database for the entire county, which encompasses six cities and their police forces, which serve more than 60,000 citizens,"
said Scott Stoskopf, Butler County's computer services director.

Butler County plans to automate
and integrate its emergency management system and fire services with new software and add mobile data, Stoskopf said.

HTE's customers include cities, counties, states, corrections, justice and public safety agencies, public and private utilities, school districts and transit authorities.
