MAY 9 - Market research firm Federal Sources Inc. of McLean, Va., has filled its vacant president an
d chief executive officer position by hiring James Kane away from DynCorp of Reston, Va.

Kane, who was vice president for integrated business solutions at DynCorp Information Systems, replaces Tom Sanders, who left Federal Sources about three weeks ago to take a job at PlanetGov.com as a senior vice pr
esident of marketing.

PlanetGov is an online portal that Intellisys Technology Corp. of Fairfax, Va., is launching May 24.

Kane was an executive with GTE Information Systems LLC, which was bought by DynCorp in December 1999. While at GTE, Kane was director of strategic development and vice president for business solutions. Much of his
experience has been on Internet development activities.

"Jim brings FSI the type of Beltway credentials we need as we expand our growing Internet-based cons
ulting business," said David Ferm, president and CEO of Primedia Business-to-Business Group. Primedia Inc. owns Federal Sources.

"Jim's 25 years of experience in serving the government IT procurement arena will serve FSI well as he comes on board to lead an already outstanding team," Ferm said.

Along with Sanders departure from Federal Sources, the firm also lost Piper Gioia, who was senior vice
president of Internet services. She also has joined PlanetGov as a senior vice president of marketing.

PlanetGov will be an online community for current and former government professionals. The site will include news, shopping and other services.
