Ross Goes to Compaq

Compaq Computer Corp. of Houston named Ron Ross, formerly of CACI International Inc. and Computer Sciences Corp., president of the computer maker's federal subsidiary.Ross will oversee all Compaq's products, services and solutions geared toward federal customers. He succeeds Don Weatherson, who has taken a new role with Compaq as vice president of operations and strategy for North America."Ron Ross comes to Compaq with an impressive depth of experience within the federal space," said Michael Capellas, Compaq president and chief executive. "His proven leadership capabilities and his unique understanding of government IT needs and trends will help Compaq expand our service to our federal customers."Ross brings more than 30 years of experience to his post, including assignments with the National Security Agency and a 15-year tenure with CSC of El Segundo, Calif., where he was division president for defense and intelligence. Most recently, Ross was president and chief operating officer of CACI, an information technology services and systems integration firm in Arlington, Va. Ross left CACI in August 1999.
