APRIL 20 ? CACI International Inc. of Arlington, Va., saw its revenue from electronic business and information assurance grow by more than 40 percent during its third quarter, ended March 31.

While revenue from those two lines of business represent just 5 percent of CACI's overall revenue, the systems integrator sees electronic business and information assurance as growth drivers for the future, said John "Jack" London, chairman, chief executive and president of CACI.

"This past quarter we strengthened our commitment to those areas, took steps to organize resources internally, made investments and positioned [the company] for significant future growth," he said.

As part of these moves, CACI released an electronic commerce software solution called Comprizon Gateway that provides contract management capabilities over several electronic procurement systems. CACI also is providing online consumer profiling in the United Kingdom.

Through CACI's most recent quarter, the company is ahead of its revenue pace for last year. For the first nine months of its fiscal 2000, CACI had $361.9 million in revenue compared to $309.5 million for the same period last year. Operating income was up 21 percent, rising to $23.6 million from $19.6 million in 1999.

Most of CACI's growth was attributed to higher levels of systems integration work for federal civilian agencies and state and local governments, according to company officials.
