The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Health Care Finance and Policy, awarded Electronic Data Systems of Boston a $1.6 million contract for the eligibility data collection portion of its Uncompensated Care Pool project.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Health Care Finance and Policy, awarded Electronic Data Systems of Boston a $1.6 million contract for the eligibility data collection portion of its Uncompensated Care Pool project.

EDS will develop an electronic version of the division's Free Care application, which will be provided to hospitals and community health centers that participate in the pool. The application will be used to verify Free Care eligibility. EDS will collect all application information from the providers and make it available to the division for analysis.

 

 

The Montana Employees Retirement System awarded a $250,000 contract to William Mercer Consulting of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The company will provide consultant services related to creating a solution for the retirement systems defined contribution system needs.

The retirement system administers eight separate benefit programs on the state's mainframe.

William Mercer Consulting will help in developing a solicitation document to obtain a vendor to in order to implement a PeopleSoft compatible solution for the system's application upgrades.

William Mercer also will provide development and implementation assistance as needed.

 

 

The Connecticut Department of Labor awarded to Renaissance Worldwide Inc. of Exeter, N.H., a contract worth approximately $950,000 for the implementation of a turnkey telephone initial claims system for information processing at the state's unemployment insurance call centers.

Renaissance Worldwide will provide assistance and expertise for the design, implementation and testing of a system that will be used by the department's customer service representatives for processing initial claim information, forms and automated scheduling.

Renaissance also will supply all software necessary to develop the system and to provide maintenance and training services.

 

 

These contracts are compiled by Federal Sources Inc.'s state and local division. Federal Sources is a market research firm in McLean, Va.
