Litton-PRC Inc., McLean, Va., will provide the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department with a Positive Identification and Information System under a $9.9 million contract. The police department plans to establish a Metro Automated Identification Network to provide enhanced capabilities for identifying criminals, employment applicants and others. A major part of the project is replacing the automated fingerprint and mug shot system.

The Delaware Department of Transportation and the Transit Corp. awarded a $10 million contract to Orbital TMW of Germantown, Md., for a new automatic vehicle locator system. Implementing the system will be done in conjunction with the installation of a two-way radio project. The vendor for the consulting project, Intellect of Baltimore, is responsible for supervising and installing the new system, which will support multiple vehicle dispatch locations and integration of mobile data terminals.

The Illinois Department of Public Aid has awarded a $1.9 million contract to Scan-Optics of Ann Arbor, Mich., to install a standard imaging component to the state Medicaid Management Information System. The department plans to implement a scanner/imaging system within a PC/LAN online environment. The system will scan and index documents; capture data; and sort, edit, correct and distribute corrected data. Scan-Optics will provide hardware, software and integration services to incorporate the Bureau of Information Systems/
Data Preparation Unit, the Bureau of Technical Services and other users into one entity for data capture and editing and for viewing and printing images.

The Ohio Office of State Courts Administration, with assistance from Proware Inc. of Cincinnati, will implement a case management system in the office of the Clerk of the Supreme Court. The new system will provide the functionality of the existing system and make it easier to use. The contract with Proware is valued at $318,000. The present case management system was developed through a transfer of the Rhode Island case processing system.
