Ploog's High Hopes for DMR

Looking to jump-start its state and local government practice, systems integrator DynCorp has hired Holli Ploog to serve as president of DynCorp Management Resources Inc. in Reston, Va. Ploog had been senior vice president and managing director for Lockheed Martin IMS Information Resources Management unit, where she managed large-scale IT outsourcing programs and new technology business initiatives.Ploog, who helped grow Lockheed Martin's state and local government business, plans to raise DMR's annual revenue during the next five years from about $45 million to $250 million. This is an ambitious goal, she said, but there are many untapped opportunities among state and local governments. "It's a large marketplace in need of an expanded list of contractors," she said.Part of Ploog's strategy will be to capitalize on technical solutions developed for federal agencies by Reston, Va.-based DynCorp. For example, the parent company is managing a large fingerprinting project for the Immigration and Naturalization Service that could have many applications in state and local human services and law enforcement agencies, she said.DMR will also acquire companies that can complement and increase its market base, she said. DynCorp, a technical services company, had 1998 revenue of $1.2 billion and ranked 22nd in Washington Technology's most recent list of the Top 100 federal prime contractors.
