V-One Corp., Germantown, Md., hired Robert Kelley as vice president of engineering. He previously served as director of new product development for Symix Systems and group manager of software development for CompuServe Inc.
OTG Software of Bethesda, Md., appointed Ronald Kaiser as chief financial officer. Kaiser most recently served as CFO of Trusted Information Systems Inc.
Zyga Corp., Bethesda, Md., appointed Ronald Podrazik as director of new business development for its Maryland branch. He will be responsible for the strategic development of new business and the company's knowledge management programs. Podrazik joins Zyga following 20 years with General Electric Co., where he held senior sales positions.
Online Monitoring Systems, Alexandria, Va., hired Steve Messick as senior vice president of sales and Diane Perlman as director of marketing. Messick will be responsible for managing and growing OMS' sales force. He was previously vice president of product sales for Sybase Inc. Perlman will be responsible for corporate identity, positioning and marketing. She was previously a vice president at Weber/Ryan McGinn.
Robbins-Gioia Inc. of Alexandria, Va., appointed Avon James as chief operating officer. James' 32-year Air Force career included serving as director of computer resources.
James Martin Co., Fairfax, Va., appointed Ed Lukes as its president of North America. He previously consulted to several Denver-based companies that were involved in Internet-based electronic commerce. The company also appointed Nelson Blitz as senior vice president and worldwide general counsel. He was in private practice with the law firm Odin, Feldman & Pittleman for 17 years.
ValiCert Inc., Mountain View, Calif., named Alexander Garcia-Tobar as its international vice president. Garcia-Tobar will work to build a validation infrastructure through worldwide strategic partnerships and original equipment manufacturer channels. Before joining ValiCert, Garcia-Tobar served as international director for Forrester Research Inc.Ê
JGI, Rochelle Park, N.J., appointed Michael Kurtz as director of professional service sales for North America. He was most recently a sales executive at IBM. The company also hired Jim Flanagan as director of business development for the Intentia/Movex practice. He was previously with Mapics Inc. where he served as director of its major account operations in North America. Chuck Strahlendorff also joined JGI as executive director of strategic business development and corporate marketing. He was previously executive vice president at Software Plus.
April L. Young was appointed as senior vice president and manager in the Reston, Va., office of the Imperial Bank's Emerging Growth Division's Mid-Atlantic Region. Young will be responsible for developing and managing the division's mid-Atlantic technology financing practice, providing early stage debt and other financial services to technology and life science companies. She was previously the founding executive director of the Potomac KnowledgeWay.PSINet Inc. of Herndon, Va., appointed James Haid as vice president of network operations and Sandy Blaisdell as vice president of field services. The company also announced the promotions of John Walpuck, formerly director of mergers and acquisitions, to vice president for mergers and acquisitions; Teresa Zajonczkoski, formerly assistant corporate secretary, to corporate secretary; and Lawrence Winkler, formerly director of capital markets and treasury, to vice president and treasurer.Wang Global, Billerica, Mass., appointed Alberto Fresco to the newly created position of corporate senior vice president of Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will be based in Milan, Italy, with responsibility for managing Wang Global's delivery of network and desktop integration services and solutions in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Israel, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. Fresco was also named executive chairman of Olivetti Wang Global, the Italian unit that is the largest of the company's international subsidiaries. Fresco was formerly with Digital Corp.
International Mobile Communications of Bethesda, Md., appointed Gregory Buckman to the new position of vice president of sales and marketing. He was previously sales director at Images in Dulles, Va. The company also appointed four new regional sales directors: Whitney Myrus for the mid-Atlantic region; James Derrickson for the Northwest region; Ted Galletta for the mid-East region; and Tom McKee for the Northeast region.
Formtek Inc., Palo Alto, Calif., named Vincent Zumbo as vice president of finance, human resources and operations. Zumbo's additional assignment to vice president of operations capitalizes on his 12 years as vice president of finance and human resources at Formtek. The company is a unit of Lockheed Martin Integrated Business Solutions.
ICF Kaiser International Inc., Fairfax, Va., promoted Shaun Martin to vice president and treasurer from assistant treasurer. Martin will oversee all activities related to capital structure, working capital management and planning, including capital market relations, international and domestic cash, forecasting and financing requirements. Martin joined the company in 1996.
