The Chiefs of Police Association of Pennsylvania recently awarded a $2 million contract to Printrak International Inc. of Anaheim, Calif., to develop an integrated mug shot imaging network. The contract is part of a statewide effort to link all mug shot imaging systems.

The Manatee County Purchasing Office of Florida has hired GTE of Tampa to upgrade its computer-aided dispatch and police records management system. The new system will provide location information and communicate with the police, fire and rescue departments involved. The contract is worth $2.5 million.

The state of Massachusetts, Information Technology Division, has awarded a $12,000 statewide contract to Platinum Technology Inc. of Medford, Mass. The company will provide a date simulator tool that will be used to address year 2000 compliance issues.

Pennsylvania recently awarded a contract to Rebus Systems Inc. for an integrated medical malpractice claim, policy turnkey system solution. The solution may include software, hardware and networking infrastructure. The contract is valued at $1.7 million over five years.

The Department of Health and Family Services, Madison, Wis., hired HumanSoft, Norcross, Ga., to develop a statewide child immunization registry. The contract is valued at $470,000.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation recently selected Trak Engineering Inc. of Tallahassee, Fla., to replace the department's Automated Fuels Control System. The $812,000 contract includes the development and implementation of an automated fueling system for the department's transportation fleet.

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Medical Assistance Division, has awarded a year 2000 acceptance testing project to Inter Access. The contract, estimated to be worth over $439,000, is a 10-month program that will integrate changes related to the year 2000 problem into the state's Medicaid Management Information System.
