AverStar Inc., Burlington, Mass., has appointed Mary Ann Gilleece to its board of directors. Gilleece is a partner at the Washington office of law firm Manatt, Phelps and Philips, where she counsels domestic and foreign corporations on issues regarding legislative, government contract and regulatory matters.Teledesic LLC named John Keathley as its director of government services. Keathley will help define the government's requirements as a potential customer of Teledesic's advanced satellite communications system.
Breece Hill Technologies, Boulder, Colo., appointed Frank Yates III as U.S. central regional sales manager. He will be responsible for managing relations with distributors, value-added resellers and systems integrators.
The company also promoted Thomas Martell to senior director of North American sales. Martell was previously director of North American OEM sales.
Constellation Communications Inc., Washington, has hired Richard Carrington as chief financial officer. Previously, he held senior managerial and chief financial positions with TransCare Corp., Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, and First RepublicBank Corp.
Ellipso Inc., Washington, appointed Manish Thakur as chief financial officer. Thakur joined the company from Merrill Lynch & Co., where he was vice president of its global communications group.
RSA Data Security Inc., San Mateo, Calif., appointed Kendall Larsen as vice president of sales. He will direct sales efforts to enterprise customers, equipment manufacturers and channel partners. He also will be responsible for building the company's vertical industry programs and developing alliances with companies involved in public infrastructure security solutions.
Imaging Technologies Corp., San Diego, appointed Michael Clemens as chief financial officer. Clemens comes to ITEC from SyQuest Technology, where he served as chief financial officer, senior vice president and treasurer.
International Computer Networks of Newington, Va. hired Bela Orban as contracts and proposals manager. Orban will oversee government contract administration, proposal efforts and business development. Orban was previously vice president of federal systems of Cachebox Inc.
The company also appointed Gerard Kane as senior vice president of marketing. Kane's responsibilities include maintaining vendor relationships and leading a revitalization of ICN's marketing department. Kane has been with ICN for more than 13 years.
CACI International Inc. of Arlington, Va., has recruited Sharyn Pensmith as senior vice president within its business development organization. Pensmith will market CACI solutions to both federal and commercial clients. Pensmith was previously at Federal Sources Inc.
Dyson Richards has joined Keyfile Corp. of Nashua, N.H., as manager responsible for federal accounts, greater Washington commercial accounts and partner relationships. Before joining Keyfile, he was responsible for civilian government and commercial accounts for RGS Associates Inc. of Arlington, Va.Joe Arcade has been appointed sales director for Data Fellows' new Washington sales office. Arcade has held executive positions with companies such as Unisys, British Telecom, Sun Microsystems, Cabletron and Litton. A data security company, Data Fellows has offices in San Jose, Calif., and Helsinki, Finland.
Convista Inc. of Silver Spring, Md., promoted Virginia Smith to director of consulting services. She has been with the firm since 1995.
