Our most recent article may have given a mistaken impression that SAIC was unseated by Accenture's U.S. federal subsidiary.
Cloud One Next is a program for a variety of cloud related services. Accenture Federal Services won the reseller and services portion.
SAIC is the incumbent on the current Cloud One contract, but the Air Force has broken the recompete into different contracts that are technically task orders under the Alliant 2 vehicle.
SAIC did not pursue the reseller contract, which means the lone other bidder is still a mystery. A SAIC spokesperson has told us the company is competing for the cloud modernization piece and that award is still pending.
In August, SAIC received a bridge contract in August to continue supporting the Cloud One program. Work now continues through Sept. 8, 2025 and another $250.4 million in ceiling was added to the $727 million contract.
Meanwhile, we will continue to monitor the Government Accountability Office docket because contracts this large are often challenged. So far, none of the open protests in GAO's docket appear to be Cloud One Next related.
Given the Defense Department’s debrief process, a protest may not come for a couple more weeks if at all.
