The former Science Applications International Corp. executive brings experience in large contracts and developing talent.

Peraton has hired industry veteran Bob Genter as president and chief operating officer, roles he will start on Tuesday.

Genter most recently was president of the defense and civilian sector at Science Applications International Corp. He led that unit for four years.

He left the company in February 2024 as then-CEO Toni Townes-Whitley restructured the senior ranks after she joined SAIC.

While at SAIC, Genter managed a $4.8 billion-annual revenue portfolio and team of 16,000 employees. Some big wins during that time included the $1.3 billion Treasury Department T-Cloud contract and a $1.2 billion Army Corps of Engineers program known as Revolutionary IT Services.

"Bob is a transformational leader with deep expertise in the defense and federal markets," Peraton CEO Steve Schorer said in a release Thursday. "His exceptional abilities to build high-performance teams, drive growth, and execute complex integrations make him the ideal president and COO for Peraton.”

Genter will report directly to Schorer and lead efforts to strengthen Peraton's portfolio of mission-focused capabilities, plus advance and develop talent across the company.
