AT&T appoints new FirstNet operations chief

The two-decade company veteran will lead strategy and execution for the public safety network.

AT&T has appointed a new chief operating officer for its FirstNet public safety network business in Scott Agnew, a two-decade company veteran.

He will oversee the strategy and execution aspects of FirstNet, which more than 24,000 public safety agencies connect to for use by first responders in the field. Agnew will report to AT&T FirstNet President Jim Bugel.

Agnew will continue with his responsibility for Next Generation 911 integration, plus the FirstNet Response Operations Group that assisted 625,000 first responders in the field in 2022.

His career at AT&T includes leadership roles in business development, product, mobility, wired and technical sales.
