Special Operations Command sets industry day for $600M global analytics contract

U.S. Special Operations Command has set Aug. 25 as the industry day for its $600 million contract to field a global analytics platform.

Companies interested in attending the virtual industry day need to register by Aug. 7. As we reported earlier, only companies that have responded to the request for information can take part in one-on-one meetings.

But the industry day program is open to all companies. Representatives must be U.S. citizens.

During the open session, SOCOM will give a technology overview, followed by a contracting overview. There also will be a general Q&A sessions. The virtual program will wrap up at noon. One-on-one sessions will begin at 1 p.m. and continue to 6 p.m. More one-on-one sessions will be held the next day.

SOCOM is looking for a global analytics platform that combines several capabilities into a single architecture. The command has a need to analyze large volumes of data within a suite of secure-web applications. Capabilities include analytics, collaboration, visualization, entity resolution, and alerting services.

The command plans to award the contract in two lots: one for development and systems upgrades and improvements., and the second for operational systems maintenance and sustainment support.

A final solicitation will likely come out sometime in fiscal year 2021.
