Salient CRGT puts up fight for lost DHS contract

Salient CRGT isn’t happy over losing a $94 million incumbent contract and has gone to the Government Accountability Office complaining that they should have won.

The contract involves a task order won by Abacus Technology under the Homeland Security Department’s Eagle II contract.

The work involves support for the U.S. Customs and Immigration Service that includes service help desk, desk-side support, service center services, account management and hardware incident resolution.

Salient CRGT picked up the work after its acquisition of Information Innovators in early 2017. Known as Triple-i, the company had provided the services since 2014. The current contract is expected to expire in late June, according to Deltek.

Work covers about 230 USCIS locations in the United States.

USCIS is an important customer for Salient CRGT. The company recently won a $9.2 million contract to modernization the paper-based immigration process.

Abacus has already set up a section on its webpage supporting the contract it won, including how incumbent personnel can transition to Abacus.

That might be on hold for now. Salient CRGT filed its protest May 18 and a decision is expected Aug. 27.
