LGS sells spot on NIH CIO-SP3 contract to Capstone

LGS Solutions has sold its NIH CIO-SP3 contract to Capstone Corp. of Alexandria, Va.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. In fact, in its press release, Capstone declined to name LGS and instead only said that it had acquired the contract.

But on the company’s contracts page of its website, they have posted the novation documents that named LGS as the company that previously held the contract.

The contract was novated to Capstone on Dec. 20, 2016.

CIO-SP3, of course, is the large multiple-award contract from NIH that is open to all civilian and defense buyers for a wide range of IT needs.

It hasn’t been an important contract to LGS, however. Deltek only has LGS listed as winning about 12 task orders worth about $2.2 million.

Capstone still has some significant runway to use the contract as it doesn’t expire until 2022.

“This contract is aligned with Capstone’s strategy to compete in the information technology, cyber security and health services markets across the entire Federal Government and to gain entry into new markets,” said Bill Moore, Capstone’s founder and chairman.

LGS officials didn’t respond to a request for comment on the divestiture.
