CSA closes acquisition & gets added backing

Client Solution Architects, a consulting firm focused on digital transformation efforts at the Defense Department, has closed an acquisition to expand its presence across several other areas of the federal IT market.

CSA’s purchase of Capstone Corp. also coincides with the acquirer’s receipt of an investment from Blue Delta Capital Partners, the venture capital firm that acquires non-controlling equity stakes in government services companies to support their growth.

Terms of the transactions announced Thursday were undisclosed, but CSA will have more than $100 million in annual revenue as a larger entity. CSA also secured senior debt from Atlantic Union Bank.

CSA is led by CEO Amy Bleken and Lee Arroyo, founder and chairman of the board. Dan Fox, chief operating officer for Capstone, will hold the same title at the combined company.

Founded in 2003, CSA works with agencies on developing and implementing roadmaps for technology transformation and other elements of their digital strategies.

CSA sees the addition of Capstone as forming a more robust player in areas like IT modernization, DevOps, cybersecurity, data management automation and process improvement.

Holland & Knight served as counsel to CSA on both transactions.Grant Thornton, Halyard Associates, USI and Brown & Brown acted as advisers to CSA.

G Squared Capital Partners served as Capstone’s advisers. Cooley LLP served as counsel to Blue Delta.
