Raytheon chairman Kennedy to retire

One of the architects behind the merger with UTC calls it a career

One of the main architects behind the merger to create Raytheon Technologies plans to retire following the one-year anniversary of that deal, the company said Monday.

Tom Kennedy, executive chairman of the board of directors, will step down from the role on June 1 and be succeeded by CEO Greg Hayes.

Kennedy led Raytheon as CEO in the six years prior to the April 2020 merger of that company with United Technologies Corp. His career at Raytheon spanned 38 years in total.
