Jacobs promotes exec to head federal & environmental unit

Jacobs elevates one of its vice presidents to senior VP for its federal and environmental solutions business.

Jacobs has promoted one of its vice presidents in Tim Byers to senior vice president and general manager for its federal and environmental solutions business.

Byers will lead a unit that provides buildings, infrastructure environmental and other related services to public sector customers including U.S. federal agencies, as well as private sector clients such as other major defense contractors.

Many of those customers are heavily involved in the response to the coronavirus pandemic and Byers will be “on point working with our clients and leading our team of Federal & Environmental Solutions professionals in these dynamic and challenging times," Jacobs President and Chief Operating Officer Bob Pragada said in a release Thursday.

A retired Air Force major general, Byers joined the company four years ago after his retirement to lead growth and sales for the F&ES business.

Byers’ three-decade military career culminated with service as Air Force Civil Engineer, which saw him lead the branch’s 54,000-strong engineering workforce and an $18 billion portfolio of facilities, infrastructure and real estate.
