IT services firm acquires biomedical, public health contractor

BRMi has acquired a provider of information and management sciences support to agencies in the biomedical research and public health arenas.

Terms of the transaction announced Tuesday were undisclosed and DMS has become a subsidiary of BRMi, which plans to use the acquisition as a platform to pursue more opportunities in federal health IT.

This is BRMi’s second acquisition since the IT services provider was incorporated in 2004 as Battle Resource Management Inc.

Silver Spring, Maryland-based BRMi made its first deal in 2016 when the company acquired Clearsoft, which specializes in agile software development and systems integration support to federal and commercial organizations.

DMS was founded in 1981 as Data Management Sciences and focuses on IT management, application management, data analytics, bioinformatics and scientific programming.
