Serco to help Air Force install new civil engineering IT system

Serco Group’s North American subsidiary has booked a potential five-and-a-half year, $82.3 million task order to help deploy and manage a new IT environment for the Air Force’s community of civil engineers.
This order supports the Air Force’s effort to implement the IBM “Tririga” workplace management system that is scheduled to cover all of the service branch’s installations by 2023.
Work under the "NexGen IT" order will take place over one initial base year followed by up to four individual option years and then a six-month extension of service, Serco Inc. said Monday.
With the cloud-based Tririga system as a lever, the Air Force sought Serco Inc.’s help to modernize several legacy IT systems used by the branch’s civil engineers to manage projects, validate funding and support the entire lifecycle of asset management.
Reston, Virginia-based Serco Inc. will act as the main service provider and be responsible for software development, configuration, fielding, operations support and sustainment.
Serco Inc. will also perform services in areas such as cloud migration, systems engineering, update and release management, IT service desk and data management.
The General Services Administration awarded the order through its Alliant 2 Unrestricted contract vehicle for broad IT solutions and services. Serco Inc. says it supports other federal agencies in their use of Tririga.
