SES books $516M DOD satellite services pact

The U.S. federal subsidiary of global satellite company SES has received a five-year, $516.7 million blanket purchase agreement from the Defense Department for services to connect DOD agencies with platforms in medium-Earth orbit.

SES Government Solutions will supply satellite terminals and perform associated managed service work that includes high-throughput capacity, broadband services, gateway services, and monitoring and control services.

The SES parent company said Monday it will also carry out field service representative support, training and terrestrial backhaul support work.

The BPA’s ordering period is from May 1, 2018 through April 30, 2023.
