Alion promotes Stammetti to senior VP

Alion Science and Technology has promoted one of its former capture and technical leads and 37-year defense sector veteran Vince Stammetti to senior vice president.

Stammetti will lead Alion’s systems solutions business unit that offers naval architecture and marine engineering services to the Navy, other Defense Department agencies and commercial customers. He previously was capture and technical lead for combat and C4ISR systems on a large bid, the company said Tuesdya.

Prior to Alion, he was vice president and general manager of Leonardo DRS’ power and control division that built shipboard electrical distribution and power conversion equipment for U.S. Navy vessels.

Stammetti is also a former general manager of Southeast region shipyards for BAE Systems’ U.S. subsidiary, former naval program director at Sayers & Associates and production director for the Littoral Combat Ship at Lockheed Martin.

He retired from the Navy in 2001 with the rank of commander after a 20-year military career.
