Atlas Research hires Booz Allen vet Portman as CEO

Government services consultancy Atlas Research names former Booz Allen Hamilton executive Robin Portman as president and CEO.

Washington, D.C.-based government services consulting firm Atlas Research has hired former Booz Allen Hamilton executive Robin Portman as president and CEO. Founded in 2008, Atlas provides IT and professional services to federal agencies across areas such as human capital, health care and veteran health. The company’s federal customer base includes the Veterans Affairs and Health and Human Services Departments, plus the Army. Portman more recently was at Georgetown University as director of its Strategic Innovation Group and adjunct professor in the School of Nursing and Health Studies. At Booz Allen, she led the firm’s health business and led efforts to expand the portfolio across defense, security, civil and commercial customers.

She will focus on Atlas’ efforts to further build up its business development function and also lead all aspects of day-to-day operations. Portman succeeds company founders Ryung Suh and Mark Chichester, who will transition into new roles as leaders of Atlas’ newly-formed board of directors, Atlas said Wednesday.
