Improve government IT, win cash prizes

MeriTalk, an online government community, will pay $50,000 for the best idea on how IT can be used to improve the federal government's operations, Brian Heaton writes in Government Technology.

Named the Merit Awards, the contest will pay that amount to the entry with the best problem-solving and cost-saving idea that centers on technology. Full details and entry submission instructions are available at www.meritalk.com/meritaward.

The deadline for entries is Aug. 1 and winners will be announced Aug. 23, Heaton writes.
