Stewart Simonson will lead SRA's government affairs unit

SRA International Inc. has named Stewart Simonson vice president of government affairs.

Simonson will report to Stan Sloane, the company’s president and chief executive officer, and will be the senior corporate executive responsible for maintaining effective relationships with the federal government.

Previously, Simonson was vice president and director of strategic initiatives in SRA’s Global Health business unit, where he provided leadership on key health topics and strategic consulting for health-related projects and proposals.

Simonson joined SRA in August 2007 when it acquired Constella Group LLC, where he led the preparedness practice. He also spent nearly five years at the Health and Human Services Department serving in senior positions that included deputy general counsel and assistant secretary for public health emergency preparedness.

Earlier in his career, he was chief legal counsel to the governor of Wisconsin.

SRA International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 32 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
